Mindfulness Group Program

Mindfulness has become a hot topic in the health and wellness space in recent years. Yet how do you learn this practice and how to use it to your benefit? This program will help even the most novel of learners understand mindfulness on a deeper level and see how to integrate it into all areas of life. For those already familiar with mindfulness, this course will help you learn new techniques and approaches to understanding when mindfulness is most useful for you.

Group Program will include: 5 weekly Zoom sessions, access to our digital pre-recorded Mindfulness Course, a PDF activity book, and access to a private Facebook Page where you can recieve ongoing support.

Mindfulness is a process of increasing our awareness and learning to be fully present in the world around us. Mindfulness is helpful in many areas of life, such as becoming aware of our thought patterns, reducing our anxious or fearful thought patterns, getting to understand ourselves on a deeper level, learning how to relate to others in mindful ways, and so much more!

Zoom Link will be provided via the e-mail used during sign out. Link will also be available in the program's private Facebook group. Steps on how to access the Facebook group will be sent out by email approximately 1 week before the start of the program, and no later than 48 hours prior to the first group session. Content of group sessions may be recorded and posted in the private Facebook group.

Please note that the pre-recorded course is heavily focused on activities. Because of the nature of mindfulness many sections walk through several activities step by step rather than leaning as heavily towards a lecture style format. You can follow along with your activity book, or just watch the steps of each activity to better understand how to engage with the world through the lens of a mindful approach.

In the pre-recorded course, each coach will share examples of their own materials that they have used to help clients engage in mindful practices. Some activities will feel useful to you while others may not be as helpful. Different activities work best for certain personality types or world views. You are free to adapt these tools in a way that best fits within your own framework. The activity book included will provide space for you to keep track of your own ideas and adaptations of these activities so that you get the more benefit out of each topic. Try using the activities in different ways until you find an adaptation that feels like a good fit. Engage. Experiment. Evaluate.

Experiment – play around with changing different elements of the activity or even combining it with others.

Evaluate – reflect on the impacts these changes had. Which ones worked and which didn’t? Are there further changes that could be made in order to help you get the most out of the activity?

Life Coach Practitioner Katelyn Townsend

Katelyn has a BA combined major in psychology and sociology and a Master of Theological Studies with a concentration in theology. She is certified through the Certified Coaches Federation. With a heart for people and a longing to see others succeed, Katelyn is ready to help you find unity and achieve your goals. Katelyn has also helped clients of several faith back grounds and belief systems learn how to integrate mindfulness with all areas of life, including their spiritual practice. She has over 5 years of professional life coaching experience.

Coach Jaydon Bird

Away from the coaching space, Jaydon is also a comedian, actor, and creates advertising content for small businesses. Jaydon is familiar with approaching mindfulness from both a Christian and Yogi perspective. Jaydon seeks to bring everything that he does, in any space, back to God. Studying Law at the University of New England as well as creating video content for both WordoftheBird and other small businesses, he keeps himself busy, and knows how to take mindfulness on the go!

A Letter From Life Coach Practitioner Katelyn Townsend

Hi, my name is Katelyn Townsend

I have been helping individuals gain awareness, rebuild their lives, and reach their goals for the past 5 years. I came from a troublesome past that led me to seek counselling throughout my life. Whenever I had healed from whatever latest trauma had occurred, I would often find counsellors asking why I was still attending sessions as I seemed to be at peace with the events. This left me feeling a sense of “well now what?” or “where do I go from here?” Counselling helps us get comfortable with the things we have been through, but it doesn’t always teach us how to move forward in mindful ways. When I discovered life coaching it was the missing piece I had been searching for in my own journey. I wanted to give that gift to others.
